So apparently I was not cut out for this blogging stuff.  LOL.
Easter pasted by, I had surgery, and lots and lots of stuff has happened at work - 3 car accidents, cancer surgery for a spouse in the office, etc etc.

Ok.  So Easter with my family was AWESOME!  I drove to the Family Center and had a wonderful time with family I have't seen in literally 20 years.  Yes. I am that old thankyouverymuch.
It was so soo soosoooooos oooooo so sooooo good to see my family and Favorite Cousin, Melissa and her immediate family.  Good times!!!  I will try to post some pictures, but obviously I can't even update my blog, so that may be this time next year. ;)

I had my gallbladder removed and feel.ABSOLUTELY.AMAZING!!!!!!!  I seriously didn't know just how bad I was feeling until it was taken out.  The day of the surgery and next two days after are ones I will be happy to forget,  but all in all it has been awesome.
Day of surgery, my scheduled appointment went from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 then to 5:30.... Let's just get to the point.  I didn't get out of surgery until after midnight.  Needless to say, all that day with NO food and NO water, I was dehydrated and got sick from the anaesthesia.  Just had surgery and puking is not an awesome feeling.  I have the most amazing husband. Seriously.  He sat by my side, helped me up, helped roll my iv so I can pee, grabbed my hair when I was puking, and helped me in more ways possible.  I can't tell you guys how thankful and absolutely happy I am that he choose me. Me!
I love that man and will try to spend the rest of my days showing him, even on those days he isn't my favorite.... LOL.
I am now almost 4 weeks out from that surgery and feel AMAZING.  I lost about 9 lbs from not eating for a week, gained .5 lbs back, but seriously feel good.  I went to the gym this morning and walked on treadmill at a good pace, not like walking around the pasture.  I even worked up a little sweat.  Got to get this weight off me (20 lbs would be awesome), so I am going to get back at it.  Wish me luck!

So, I found out I have PCOS.....

What is PCOS?
Well, it is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and I have probably had this for a while.  Since I was 16 I have always had cysts on my ovaries or tubes, one getting in the 7 cm range requiring surgery.

I have been going to the gym since January 3-5 days a week, and eating LOTS better as well, only have have GAINED 2 lbs.  Since October I noticed I have been packing on the pounds and thought I would do something about it in January.  Usually when I start going to the gym and watching what I eat, eating cleaner, etc the weight starts coming off.  Well, not this time.  I have been a mess about it too.

My face has been like a 17 year going through puberty, I have hair on my face - THANK YOU JESUS I have blonde hair, and just generally feeling off.   So, I went to see my doctor.

After 6 vials of blood and many ultrasounds later, we know what is going on.

I have PCOS, something going on with my thyroid (a nodule that is too small to biopsy - so we will monitor over next 3-6 months and then annually), cholesterol levels out of whack and possible issue with my gallbladder.  Going Monday morning to have a HIDA scan done for that.

These are the symptoms of PCOS just in case you were wondering what the heck it is:
  • irregular or no menstrual periods or heavy periods
  • acne
  • obesity/weight gain/inability to lose weight
  • breathing problems while sleeping
  • depression
  • oily skin
  • infertility
  • skin discolorations
  • high cholesterol levels
  • elevated blood pressure
  • excess or abnormal hair growth and distribution
  • pain in the lower abdomen and pelvis
  • multiple ovarian cysts
  • skin tags
No wonder I am without child.  Makes sense now.
I have thought about it, and I am ok with it.   There are fertility treatments available if I want to go that route, but again, if it is meant to be it will happen.

Here are the treatment plans for PCOS:
Comprehensive Treatments
  • Insulin Sensitizers: Metformin (Glucophage), Glitazones (Rosiglitazone/Avandia, Pioglitazone/Actos)
Symptomatic Treatments
  • Anti-Androgens: Spironolactone (Aldactone), Cyproterone acetate, Flutamide (Eulexin), Finasteride (Propecia, Proscar)
  • Anti-Obesity Drugs: Orlistat (Xenical), Sibutramine (Meridia)
  • Fertility agents: Clomiphene citrate (Clomid, Serophene), Gonadotropin injections, hCG (human choriuionic goinadotropin), GnRH Lutrepulse
  • Pregnancy: IVF (in-vitro fertilization)
  • Steroid hormones: Oral contraceptives (birth control pills), Progesterone (bioidentical), Estrogens, and Corticosteroids
  • Surgery: Ovarian drilling, Oophorectomy and hysterectomy
My doctor has put me on Metformin which I have been on for 3 days so far.  I have also been instructed to take B-12, Krill Oil, Flintstones vitamins- yes the chewable kids kind and she changed my birth control as well.

With my weight being about 8 lbs away from the highest weight in my life, and all the other symptoms I KNEW I wasn't crazy and so grateful I listened to my body and went to see the doctor.  I wont even tell you how bad out of whack my hormones are.  We will be monitoring all of this and HOPEFULLY before long I will shed AT LEAST 20-30 pounds off this frame.

Just wanted to post this as it seems this is more common than I thought, and if I can tell just one person to check it out if they have some of these symptoms, then so be it!  Ladies, LISTEN to your bodies.  If you feel like something is off.... it probably is.

I am one of those people that go to the doctor MAYBE once a year.  SO glad I went this time, and my doctor listened to me.

Hope everyone is doing well.  If you have any questions, let me know ;)

Happy Monday, Second Week of 2013....

Because I am late at everything, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I hope your holidays were wonderful and filled with good food and even better time spent with family and friends.
We had a great Christmas and New Years.  My husband is awesome.  What other man would stop on New Years Eve, while it is raining and spend $250 worth of fire works just for you??  No kids... no one else, but you?
My husband did.  I love him.

FYI for next year or July 4th... get the Rare Orchid... Best firework for your buck.  (its on youtube it is sooo good.. hahahaha)

I am patiently waiting on my Smiley360 mission for Campbell's Soup to come in the mail.  It is a new soup on the market, lots of coupons for said soup and some comfy socks.  I CAN'T WAIT!  I will blog about it later when I get it in the mail if anyone is interested.

I am received about 10 books for Christmas, so if you don't hear from me for a while... my nose will be buried in a book or my kindle.

Happy NEW Year!!!

I got new Bling and a New 4Legged Family Member

As promised -

After the awesome vacation we had where the hubby wrecked his bike and I lost my wedding band... I am happy to report that I now have a new set!
Yes, it is not the same... and I miss my old set dearly, but what do you do??
Here is my new set... What do you think?

Excuse the Old Lady Wrinkly Hands... My dishwasher broke so I was dishes daily now.. LOL

We also added another member to the family.  I really do think we have lost our minds.  We now have 5.... yes 5 dogs!!!
We have yet to name this little guy, so any name suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I would like a one syllable name.  Right now all he knows is No. Poor baby.

Poor baby was tired.

Creasy and Ox are above... Creasy is MUCH bigger now, but still has big ears.  He is so smart and loves retrieving.  Ox is... well... he is a good watch dog and is getting very old.  He is almost blind.  What can I say, all of our animals have quirks, but we love them ALL!

Happy FRIDAY and Hope you have all your shopping done. I know I DO NOT.  :(

Pearl Harbor Day and General Day or Rememberance

Today is a day that is hopefully never forgotten... Much like September, 11th.  It is a day that our country as a nation was attacked and many lives were lost.  It needs to be remembered and honored.

Also today I want to post something that has been on heart and mind.
I have been thinking about my Father-in-Law a lot lately, probably because it will be one year next Sunday since he passed.  I miss him daily.  I know my husband misses him daily... it is hard without him here.
                                                  LOVE YOU PEEPAW!!!

Also, I have been following a family that is very good friends my with Cousin, Melissa.  This family is amazing, and so strong I can not even describe it.  They are what the "American Dream" and family is.  They recently lost the head of their family, Curt.  Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.  I have attached a link to their site so you can read up on their journey through his diagnosis to the end of the journey.  Never have a seen such an amazing family.  My heart hurts for them, as well as my cousin because I she loves them so much.

Miranda Lambert's Song "Over You" pretty much sums it up.

"Over You"

Weather man said it’s gonna snow
By now I should be used to the cold
Mid-February shouldn’t be so scary
It was only December
I still remember the presents, the tree, you and me

But you went away
How dare you?
I miss you
They say I’ll be OK
But I’m not going to ever get over you

Living alone here in this place
I think of you, and I’m not afraid
Your favorite records make me feel better
Cause you sing along
With every song
I know you didn’t mean to give them to me

But you went away
How dare you?
I miss you
They say I’ll be OK
But I’m not going to ever get over you

It really sinks in, you know, when I see it in stone

Cause you went away,
How dare you?
I miss you
They say I’ll be OK
But I’m not going to ever get over you

I will promise to have a happy post next.  :)

Happy Thanksgiving

I want to tell my 1 reader...LOL....

I have so much to be thankful for this year, like every year.
My husband is ok from his horrible wreck, and will be 100% by next year (Fingers crossed)
My grandmother, that is 88, is still here today and for this I am so very grateful.
My family is around and I love them dearly.
My bills are paid, my lights are on, and I am happy.

What more could you be thankful for?

I wish you and yours the very best Thanksgiving.  Even if you can't be together, you are in your heart.

Month in Review

Yes it has been a while... after I finish this post you will probably (hopefully) understand why.

Honestly, I don't know what Karma God we pissed off... but I am pleading to Whomever that it stops.. Seriously.

And then I would like the Money Angel to come my way please and thank you.  With a cherry on top please??

If you know me then this is all a long drawn out story you have already heard.  If not, appease me.

So, the husband and I have been planning our vacation now for - oh going on two years.
Where would a married couple go, with such extensive planning and money poured into their FIRST vacation in 4 - YES FOUR years??

Why - Waynoka, Oklahoma of course!  Duh!
Yes, a town that has no Dairy Queen, or Red lights for that matter.  Smaller than said town we live in.  AND 14 HOURS away from home.

Let me explain.  We have 4 wheelers aka ATV's.  Banshee 4 wheelers (they go really fast and are a blast to ride) and I have a YFZ 4 wheeler.  We have them tricked out and prettied up.

First one is the husband's - very tricked out and fast... Yellow & Black is mine... I think its pretty cool.
I didn't have a pic of the other one, but you get the idea.

So, we head out on our vacation to Waynoka, Ok two weeks ago after no sleep and me working all day.  We get there after a 12 hr drive, and working on 26 hrs no sleep at this point.

There are dunes.  Sand Dunes.  We go on vacation to ride said Sand Dunes aka Little Sahara Sand Dunes.

After catching a bite to eat, and attempting to take a nap that didn't happen due to excitement of finally being there and on vacation.... we (my husband, his nephew and myself) decide to take a quick trip to the dunes to get a lay of the land.

Well, Since we are just getting a "feel of the land" the boys wear only their sunglasses, gloves and husband his riding boots.  NO helmets.  Well, not this girl, I had it all on thankyouverymuch.

The dunes are AWESOME, really great.  Like butter, soft and so much fun to ride.  We are blasting through them, and going fast of course.  1st mistake - going out there on no sleep, 2nd mistake - going out there without right gear on, 3rd mistake - going out there and riding like we were b/c we were so excited.  Way too fast, not using a spotter, etc.

Well, my husband stops us and tells us both to slow down and be careful of the dunes and to watch out for dips, washouts, and witches eyes.  His nephew takes off, goes over a big dune, I am next and then the fun starts.
I get to the top of the same dune but on different side, stop at top and see my husband speeding to catch up with us. He gets to dune and goes over - I look at him, and he sees what I see at the same time.  There is a huge washout at the bottom of the dune he is going over.  It all happens in slow motion as he wrecks his bike. Right.Next.To.Me. in the washout.  Flipped end over end.

How he stayed on the bike as it flipped end over end is still a mystery but I think he is part spider monkey.  Well, bike lands standing straight up, pouring gasoline, and husband kicks off of it thinking the same thing I was (I found out later).  We both thought it might catch fire.  He is badly injured, and I run off my bike and push his bike down, and then run to him.  He is bad hurt.  I wont go into details, but his arm looked nasty nasty nasty.  Bike got him in his arm, abdomen, knee and he found new spots of bruises for a week.

We got him out of there and to the clinic in the small town.  Awesome Dr.  She said shoulder looked dislocated, but abdomen was beyond her and to head to nearest town... 35 miles away.

90 miles an hour and very bumpy roads later I get him to the hospital.  Apparently shoulder popped back into place on ride there (sorry dear), but here is what all happened in a nut shell.

Bleeding in abdomen, worried about bladder being damaged due to blood in urine and blood in abdomen, then worried about perforated bowel  - all turned out ok.  Arm broken at elbow, knee tendons strained, arm still messed up and going to see Dr about that this week.  3 Days in ICU.  No sleep for those three days either.  Oh yeah, and no health insurance either... was fixing to get on it at his job... (job which is now in question)... AWESOME

On day 5 we drove back home... carefully and patiently.

(Before we left I had to have wedding band fixed, and my engagement ring cant be fixed any more (long story again)... well we get back home and I cant find my band.)

This has been my October so far.

Yep... I am awesome.
  Just wanted to share.
